Post 1: A Land Between Hope and Hatred
When the State of Israel was born in 1948, Iran was among the first Muslim-majority countries to recognize it. Tehran and Tel Aviv even enjoyed warm diplomatic ties for decades. But everything changed in 1979.
That year, Iran had a revolution. The Shah of Iran was overthrown, and a new Islamic regime took control under Ayatollah Khomeini. With this change came a new ideology — one that saw Israel as a "Zionist enemy". The Israeli embassy in Tehran was shut down, replaced with a Palestinian one. Overnight, friends became enemies.
What caused this deep shift? The new Iranian regime believed Israel was occupying Muslim land. They started supporting Palestinian groups fighting against Israel. From this point onward, a silent war began — one that would stretch across decades, borders, and generations.
